Psyche(プシュケー)はギリシャ語で、蝶。

また、魂や治癒という意味も持ちます。

蝶には私自身思い出があります。

保育園で働いていた時の話です。

保育士としてキャリアの浅い私は、毎日力を尽くしていましたが、子ども達を上手くまとめられない不甲斐なさと、状況をどうにもできない悔しさの中にいました。

その日も、水遊びに飽きた子ども達が園前を散り散りに動き出し、車道も近く危険がありました。

でも、日々蓄積されていた気持ちの疲労に抗えず、自由な子ども達を目の前に「もう無理…」と涙が込み上げてきました。

その時、美しく大きなアゲハ蝶がどこからか舞い降りて、目の前にあった水溜りでお水を飲み始めたのです。

それを見た子ども達は、皆んな目を輝かせ、そちらに注目しました。

私や子ども達が近づいても、全く怖がる様子もなく、美しい蝶は、堂々と、夏の太陽の日差しを浴びながら、ただただ、癒しと救いを与えてくれたのです。

私にはその蝶が、姿を変えて現れた、ご先祖、仏神のように思えました。

文字にするとフィクションのようですが、本当にあったことです。

虫や動植物達は、時に、人間である私達の魂の導き手として、その存在を現すこともあるのでしょう。

一般的には目には見えないとされている聖なる導き手達、その化身として、私達がわからずとも、いつも見守ってくれているような気がします。

Psyche Ⅱ

Psyche means butterfly in Greek.

And, it also has a meaning as soul and healing.

I myself have a memory on a butterfly.

It was when I was working at a nursery school.

Still early in my career as a Nursery Teacher, I was trying my best everyday but was feeling spiritless and sorry not being able to settle the kids or change the situation.

That day too, the kids getting bored playing with water started moving one by one in front of the nursery and it was dangerous facing a street with cars.

But I couldn’t help myself with my cumulative fatigue and felt “It’s too much…” with tears coming up in front of the kids in freedom.

Just at that time, a beautiful big swallowtail butterflycame from somewhere and started drinking water from the puddle right in front.

Kids who found out all started shining their eyes and paid attention.

Even when me or the kids approached, it didn’t show fear at all. The beautiful butterfly just gave us comfort and relief bathing confidently in the summer sun.

For me, I felt as if this butterfly was Ancestors or Buddha and gods with a different appearance.

When it is turned into letters, it is like a fiction but this is what happened in reality.

Insects and animals and plants probably sometimes show themselves as a guide for us, human beings.

As an avatar of the holy guides who are generally told not to be seen,even though we do not notice, they are always watching and being there for us, I believe.
